Review from: T.H.E. Journal, 5/1/2007, http://www.thejournal.com/articles/20607
Editor's Note: My first thought when reviewing a resource is whether it is parent/student/homeschool-friendly. This online, interactive program has proven (in my mind) to be excellent and very homeschool friendly. If you visit the My Access site (click on the photo at the left), you will be able to see a Demonstration of the software.
Using the version I was set up with, I found it very easy to follow the instructions and set up files for students. The program includes 45 writing topics and the parent/tutor may also add their own topics. This is very useful if you are using a composition textbook like Writing Strands or a text which provides writing assignments. It will also stand alone as a writing program for all age/skill levels.

The Homeschooler's Book of Lists
Author: Sonya Haskins
Edition: Paperback
Price: 19.99
Dimensions: 6 x 9
Number of Pages: 560
Publication Date: Oct. 07
Publisher: Bethany House
Description: Make Planning Easier and Faster
This interesting book is full of lists. Hundreds of lists. As I perused through it, I thought that this might be quite helpful to any teacher or student even though it was created by a homeschool mother for homeschoolers. Her goal was to save them time and money, something she had learned to do over the years of homeschooling her five children. She decided to put over 250 of these helpful "educational" and interesting lists into a book. You can use them to create timelines, do quick research, develop a unit study or simply look up information quickly and efficiently. The neat thing is they all pertain to "school" topics that are relevant to all ages of students. The topics covered:
1. History and Government
2. Language Arts
3. Mathematics
4. Religion
5. Science
6. Animals
7. The Human Body
8. Geography
9. Foreign Language
10. Great People
11. Quotations, Speeches, and Other documents
12. Computers
13. Art and Music
14. Curriculum and Homeschool Methodologies
15. Organizational and Reference Lists for Teachers, Parents, and Students
It even comes with a CD which contains all the lists which can then be printed out as needed.
Author Information: Sonya Haskins has five children, whom she teaches at home. The author of several books, she contributes to magazines including Homeschooling Today, Guideposts for Teens, and Decision. She is a founding member of TEACH, a homeschool support group, and serves as its membership coordinator and webmaster. Sonya and her husband have been foster parents for several years, hosting more than 60 children in their home. She and her family live in Jonesborough, Tennessee.
